ZSIGMONDY COLLOQUIUM

19TH EDITION PROUDLY HOSTED BY HENKEL

About the 2024 event

THE 19TH ZSIGMONDY COLLOQUIUM, ADVANCING COLLOID SCIENCE FOR A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE

The Colloid Society is one of Germany's most established scientific associations. Founded in Leipzig in 1922, it has been multidisciplinary from its inception and has maintained a strong focus on the industrial application of colloids. Today, the society boasts several hundred scientists from diverse fields such as physics, chemistry, pharmacy, and food process engineering. Its mission is to promote colloid and interface research across disciplines.

A key priority of the Colloid Society is the support and advancement of young researchers, exemplified by initiatives such as the Zsigmondy Colloquium. Especially master students, PhD students and Postdocs are invited to present and discuss their work through oral presentations or posters. Our goal is to foster communication between researchers from universities and other research institutions and industry.

From April 10th to 12th 2024, Henkel hosted the 19th Zsigmondy Colloquium in Düsseldorf, Germany, an immersive learning experience for change to foster communication between researchers from universities and other research institutions and industry. It featured groundbreaking presentations, discussions and collaborations with a focus on sustainability, including microbial biosurfactants and biomaterials. Other topics included foams, polymer colloids and nanoparticles. Henkel's R&D insights and an industrial program enriched the event.
