The Henkel Scholarship Program helps to fund higher education for children of our employees. We congratulate this year’s 18 scholarship recipients, who are studying disciplines such as biology, economics, engineering, neuroscience and more at schools across North America.
“At Henkel, we are particularly committed to education and creating career opportunities for young people, including the children of our employees,” says Frank Steinert, Senior Vice President, Human Resources, North America. “By investing in their future, we hope to inspire the next generation of graduates to give back to their communities.”
The Henkel Scholarship Program was established in 1981 to help fund college or vocational school programs for the children of employees in the US, Canada and Puerto Rico. Since then, the program has helped hundreds of young people pursue their career dreams.
In the past six years of the program, Henkel has given over $800,000 in scholarships. Scholarships are awarded based on a number of factors, including academic record, demonstrated leadership, school and community activities and honors. The scholarship is renewable as well.
2019 Henkel Scholarship recipient, Lindsey Cummings, daughter of Mark Cummings, Regional Sales Manager, recently expressed gratitude for the second-year scholarship she received. She is studying nursing at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.
“I value my education very much and this renewable scholarship is huge for me. I have been working very hard at my major, and receiving Henkel’s support makes me realize all my efforts are put to good use,” says Lindsey. “By making an investment in my nursing career, Henkel is assisting me reach my goal: to help people for as long as I can. Thank you again!”
Henkel is proud to be part of the learning journey of this year’s 18 scholarship recipients — and all those who came before them.
