Adhesive Technologies’ Automated Lab is the first automated lab in the adhesive industry: an advanced, data-driven laboratory that automatically prepares, tests and screens new formulations. Connected to our Automated Lab is Albert, a cloud-based platform that captures the entire material development process. Each function facilitates the collection and analysis of clean, harmonized data.

Adhesive Technologies extends its ACM MRO portfolio by data-enabled IIOT solutions for the process industry, incl. predictive maintenance & smart chemistry. Our customers benefit from continuous monitoring & reduction of manual inspection, cost reduction due to reduction of unplanned downtime, the increase of sustainability & reduction of HSE risks and from protection of operator’s reputation and prevention of catastrophic failures.

We shape innovations based on long-term and trusting partnerships with our 130,000 customers across all industries. The Battery Application Engineering Center is Henkel’s hub for the application and testing of the various E-Mobility solutions together with our customers. It comprises two main facilities: the Battery Application Center, where we apply next-generation material solutions to customer parts, run simulations and test the application process. And the remote Active Battery Center dedicated to active battery testing and material behavior analysis under real conditions in a safe environment.

In this lab, innovative new products can be advanced through process simulations and the development of new digital tools, among other things: Hereby, we pursue the clear objective of providing new products with the label "first time right" in order to avoid failed tests at our customers. This enables us to apply all adhesive technologies and to reproduce our customers' application processes. Another focus is on the development of new digital tools to monitor the functionality of our adhesive systems and to adapt them via AE. This also includes the development of AIs that will enable autonomous application processes in the future. All activities are carried out in close coordination with our customers.
