The Fragrance Scientist is responsible for developing and supporting North American Hair brands, acting as the main point of contact with fragrance suppliers, working to provide superior fragrances which delight the consumer experience of Henkel products. The Fragrance Scientist works closely with marketing and R&D leads to understand project needs communicates the brand vision to fragrance suppliers in a competitive briefing process, ensuring that all fragrance briefings align with Henkel corporate goals, regulatory and sustainability objectives. The Fragrance Scientist helps identify new fragrance innovations and technologies applicable to the North American region allowing brand and works in close collaboration with the Global Fragrance team. The Fragrance Scientist will focus on growing and maintaining supplier relationships and development pipelines with Henkel’s fragrance house partners.

What you´ll do
- Fully understand Henkel’s Innovation process, leverages the process to the highest standard, holds self and others accountable to deliver all necessary tasks within the process.
- Process fragrance briefings and collaborates seamlessly with R&D and marketing to support new product innovation.
- Processing briefings through the fragrance database and track to completion.
- Maintenance internal fragrance domain and fragrance library.
- Grow and maintain supplier relationships and development pipelines with Fragrance House partners.
- Identify new fragrance innovations and technologies.
- Provide updates and strategic direction to both the North American and global R&D organizations in a timely manner with excellent quality.
- Ensure that North American fragrance briefings align with Henkel global strategy, regulatory, and sustainability objectives.
- Stay abreast of new technologies and trends in fragrance and communicate with the organization.
- Prepare and deliver presentations, both written and oral, to various levels of management.
What makes you a good fit
- Education — Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology or other Science field.
- Experience — Bachelor’s with at least 5 years of industry experience or advanced degree with at least 3-5 years of relevant laboratory and industry experience. Project management or business experience a plus.
- Required skills — Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to utilize good judgment to make timely, practical, and technically sound decisions; with ability effectively work in fluid environments that demand creativity and agility.
- Previous experience with fragrance development and/or testing is preferred but not required.
- Physical Requirements
- Significant amount of time at a computer station.
- Travel requirements
- Short travel to Fragrance Houses in New Jersey and Henkel sites in California and Connecticut locations.

The salary for this role is $80,000.00 - $125,000.00 This is the range that we in good faith anticipate relying on when setting wages for this position. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range. This salary range may also be modified in the future.
