What you´ll do
- Responsible for stabilization of new products to include optimal safety, first time pass, quality, on time shipment, cost, and waste.
- Responsible for Process Safety Management (PSM) for the products scaled up.
- Develop and implement new engineering technology to meet the needs of the plant and business.
- Champion new and current technologies, systems, and approaches to achieve objectives across the business groups.
- Implement creative and innovative product and process solutions.
- Partner with R&D to pilot and scale up of new technologies, identify technology and system gaps and implement solutions.
- Point of contact and liaison between plant personnel and development personnel to ensure effective technology transfer.
- Participate in site safety programs and training to ensure the safe operation of the equipment under supervision as implementation proceeds.
- Support process engineering initiatives in the plant locations based upon expertise.
- Minor capital project work which would include preparing capital expenditure requests (for capital requirements based on technology needs), procuring, installing and commissioning new equipment
- Work with local staff to ensure all SHE requirements are met and evaluated with equipment and processes as implementation proceeds.
- Perform various duties as assigned to meet departmental goals.
What makes you a good fit
- Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering with strong chemistry background
- Five plus years' experience, preferably in a chemical manufacturing setting
- Excellent team working, project management, and organizational skills
- Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills
- Commitment to excellence in safety, health, and environmental compliance
- Problem solving skills with incomplete or conflicting data
- Computer skills (Minitab, AutoCAD and Microsoft Office suite)
- Project management and multi-tasking skills
- Physical Requirements - Ability to work in a chemical lab and manufacturing environment, frequently sit, view a computer screen, and type on a keyboard for extended periods of times, occasionally may be required to reach, squat, bend and lift up to 40 lbs., and ability to walk up and down several flights of stairs
- Additional Preferred Requirements - Six Sigma Greenbelt with demonstrated data analysis and statistical skills, experience with scale up of organic chemicals and exothermic reactions, experience with PLC control systems, and SAP experience.

The salary for this role is $86,000.00 - $124,000.00. This is the range that we in good faith anticipate relying on when setting wages for this position. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range. This salary range may also be modified in the future.
