YOUR ROLE

  • This role reports to Corporate SHE Manager (Office and R&D) Greater China and will be based in Inno Green R&D site.
  • This role will effectively manage HSE risk at Inno Green site, and support site manager to apply full SHE compliance with legal, regulatory requirements and Henkel standards.
  • The SHE manager should have strong passion and belief in HSE commitment, promote SHE culture at site and SHE ownership to all employees.
  • To collaborate and engage with stakeholders to ensure consistency in the application of SHE requirements at the Inno Green site.

  • Establish site SHE and Sustainability targets cascaded from Global/Regional SHE and ensure targets achievement. Drive safety awareness and culture to achieve the targets set, monitor the KPI and take solid corrective and preventive actions to any deviation. (10%)
  • Develop and manage and maintain the site SHE management system, including the internal audit program, to retain external accreditations as required by the business such as ISO14001, ISO45001. Support other teams on the Corp. Audit, customer SHE audit and follow up findings pertaining to SHE. (10%)
  • Ensure Henkel SHE standards are clearly communicated to all affected parties. Facilitate the implementation of Henkel corporate SHE standard, global SHE standard and focus i.e. critical 8, AP SHE Commitment, monthly
  • SHE communication, 5S, CBS, PTW, MOC, PRA/WRA/JSA as well as chemical SDS and DG/hazardous chemical management initiatives etc.. (10%)
  • Drive SHE performance at sites by initiating SHE improvement projects. Facilitate site SHE committee and organize regular SHE meeting to discuss SHE issues with management team and representatives from different departments. Monitor the implementation of SHE initiatives and decision from SHE steering committee. (10%)
  • Develop systematic annual SHE training plan and carry out SHE training at site to promote SHE communication and raise the awareness at site, which includes but not limited to SHE induction to new employees and any other SHE training per SHE training matrix. (10%)
  • Provide professional SHE supports on innovation projects including other modification projects at site. Monitor directly or through JLL the SHE issue for project implementation. Ensure proper risk assessments, permit to work (PTW) and contractor safety management enforcement. (10%)
  • Ensure Henkel maintains full legal compliance and are able to meet business objectives and targets by monitoring, advising affected parties and responding to changes in internal and external legislation, regulations and SHE requirements, including national/local government legislation. Manage relationship with local SHE related authorities and government agencies, work with Adhesives SHE departments, FM & JLL and site functions to handle government visits and inspections and prepare relevant submittal per requests. Attend government meetings and cascade the requirements to site team. (10%)
  • Work with site team on SHE regarding risk assessments, audits and inspections, chemical management, waste and wastewater management, and other daily SHE management work etc. Monitoring/sampling plan and permit/approval application/renew issue to ensure SHE compliance of the site operation, including lab operation. (10%)
  • Ensure that all incidents including near misses and SHE opportunities for improvement are recorded, investigated and addressed.Where required, ensure they are entered into the Henkel global and/or local databases. eg. SHEcom. Ensure the appropriate government authority is informed of reportable incidents with the required statutory timeframe. (5%)
  • Ensure that emergency response, including fire evacuation procedures, chemical spill and drills, are maintained and performed regularly. (5%)
  • Functioning manage JLL (site facility management contractor) SHE professional to ensure they are performing to fulfill JLL's SHE responsibility as defined in JLL's contract with Henkel, that includes provides guideline, support and then monitoring JLL's execution of its' SHE duties. (5%)
  • Provide monthly update to the management team and Update SHEcom reporting on a timely basis.
  • Complete any other jobs assigned by supervisor or management team on a timely basis. (5%)

YOUR SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical engineering or Safety & Environment or other related engineering degree.
  • 5-10 years of working experience in multinationals in chemical industrial, lab and production environment.
  • Rich experience with SHE management, lab SHE management and chemical safety management is preferred. Good understanding and well verse of local legal legislations.
  • Experience in Construction SHE and process safety.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills.
  • Good leadership skills with initiative, proactiveness, analytical and problem solving skills.
  • National Certified Safety Engineer certificate would be add on.
  • Good knowledge in MS office.
