How does Henkel implement sustainability in its everyday activities?
Day in, day out, people put their trust in Henkel brands and technologies in more than 125 countries around the world. Thus, environmental compatibility and comprehensive product safety are our top priorities. We have embedded the corresponding stipulations relating to our business processes within our integrated management system. Adherence to these corporate-wide requirements is critically examined on a regular basis by internal audits.

How long has Henkel been committed to sustainability?
Henkel began very early on to concern itself with environmental and community issues and to treat social expectations with the seriousness they deserve. In the course of its 130 years of corporate history, Henkel has constantly and repeatedly demonstrated its commitment to environmental protection and also to the protection of the health and safety of its customers and employees. By 1959, the company was already carrying out regular ecological reviews of its detergents and cleaning products. In 1991, Henkel was one of the first companies to sign the Business Charter for Sustainable Development drafted by the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), thus formally undertaking to align its business activities to the 16 principles of environment management prescribed therein. Since 1992, Henkel has published an annual Environment Report, replaced in 2001 by its annual Sustainability Report.
