About this Position

The Head of Operational Excellence Americas will be responsible for leading continuous improvement initiatives across Henkel Adhesive’s 37 manufacturing sites across US, Mexico and South America. It will oversee the performance of the Safety Health & Environmental (SHE) for Americas in providing governance, redesigning work, enabling people, providing expertise cross regionally, to successfully drive our SHE change agenda. Additionally, it will oversee and ensure effective roll out of the Sustainability strategy, policies and commitments for the regions. The Henkel Production Systems (HPS) Americas function will also report into this role and support the regions in driving lean/continuous improvement initiatives. The incumbent will also lead, mentor and coach direct and indirect reports.  

What you´ll do

  • The Head of Operational Excellence Americas is a senior leadership role in our Henkel Adhesive Technologies Operations and Supply Chain organization responsible for driving operational excellence across the Americas region (North and Latin America).
  • Partner with regional senior management and the Global Head of Operational Excellence to develop and drive efficiency improvement programs.
  • Develop and drive the strategy of Lean Six Sigma across the manufacturing footprint.
  • Analyze new technologies and conduct competitive analyses to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and optimize utilization.
  • Utilize data-driven insights to identify process bottlenecks, monitor KPIs, and recommend improvements.
  • Ensure manufacturing systems are properly resourced and efficiently utilized.
  • Lead operational excellence initiatives, including production scheduling, cost of goods analysis, lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, 5S, and Kanban, etc.
  • Train and mentor staff in continuous improvement methodologies to foster a performance-driven culture.
  • Oversee SHE (Safety, Health, Environment) and sustainability strategy implementation, ensuring compliance and progress toward 0-0-0 objectives.
  • Monitor and enhance the company’s sustainability performance, aligning with evolving industry standards.

What makes you a good fit

  • Master’s degree in engineering or related field with a minimum of 10+ years of experience in a heavy processing environment.
  • 5+ years operational experience (preferred).
  • Must be capable of supervising crews and or maintenance personnel during projects.
  • Must be a self-motivated individual with experience working in teams to accomplish objectives.
  • Ability to analyze data and develop recommendations and solutions.
  • Excellent planning, organizing and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written.
  • Ability to relate information clearly, concisely and persuasively.
  • Ability to interact effectively at all levels and across diverse cultures.
  • Knowledgeable in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

The salary for this role is $210,000.00 - 275,000.00. This is the range that we in good faith anticipate relying on when setting wages for this position.  We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range.  This salary range may also be modified in the future.

This position can be also performed from other major HAT locations in North America, including Sao Paulo or Mexico City.
