About this position
What you´ll do
- Safety Inspections: Conduct regular inspections of construction sites to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.
- Safety Protocols: Develop, implement, and enforce safety policies and procedures in accordance with local regulations and industry best practices.
- Training and Awareness: Provide safety training and awareness programs for workers, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), emergency procedures, and safe work practices.
- Incident Investigation: Investigate accidents and incidents to determine their causes and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, training sessions, and safety equipment maintenance.
- Compliance: Ensure that all safety and health regulations are followed.
- Emergency Response: Develop and implement emergency response plans and conduct drills to ensure preparedness for various emergency scenarios.
- Communication: Act as a liaison between management and workers to address safety concerns and ensure effective communication regarding safety issues.
- Safety Equipment: Oversee the use, maintenance, and proper storage of safety equipment and gear.
- Reporting: Prepare and submit safety reports and audits to management, highlighting safety performance and areas for improvement.
- Risk Assessment: Participate and coordinate to conduct thorough risk assessments and hazard analyses (such as HAZOP & risk analysis) to identify potential process safety hazards and recommend appropriate risk mitigation strategies.
What makes you a good fit
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in Construction Safety, Process safety, industrial safety, or a related field. Experience in implementation of ISO standards (ISO 14001, ISO 45001 & ISO 50001).
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Advanced Diploma In Industrial Safety from State Board. (preference to CLI)
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of safety regulations, hazard identification, risk assessment, and emergency response procedures.
- Skills: Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Proficiency in MS Office and safety management software.
